Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolinas

Since 1981, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolinas has been dedicated to the elimination of hunger in their communities. Through education, advocacy, and partnerships, SHFBMetrolinas collaborates with various other organizations across 24 counties in both North and South Carolina to distribute food to those in need. Each year, they distribute an average of 74 million pounds of food through their main warehouse in Charlotte, NC, as well as other satellite warehouses in North and South Carolina. The organization's success in feeding the hungry in our communities is made possible by food drives, donations from grocery store partners, monetary donations, and the kindness of humanity.

It is inspiring to note that around 75% of the food that Second Harvest of the Metrolinas distributes comes from donations. The generosity of the community is astounding, and SafeOpt is proud to be a part of this amazing work. Last fall, SafeOpt hosted a food drive that aimed to benefit Second Harvest of Metrolinas. Our employees collected and donated over 200 canned goods and $1,000 to their food bank. We were honored to contribute to the mission of Second Harvest and make a positive impact on the community we serve.
